Merry Christmas!

Watch it played live stream 11/8/17

Emily has been honing her sewing skills and created an Esty store for fun and menial profit, but mainly to provide some gaming items to the community. She handed out a bunch of Mini Meeples at GenCon and wanted to make a few items for our friends too. Emily made Rodney a Watch it played padded Meeple dice bag complete with a hole for brain and dice retention and expulsion. It was really cool to see it on the WIP live chat. Thanks guys! She also made Veebug a Scarlet Macaw (Video below).

Shoutout to all our media creator friends!

(Disclaimer: I’m not a writer, my sentence structure is poor at best, and I use a lot of commas cause I tend to veer of topic. – You have been warned.)

We cannot express enough how much getting into tabletop gaming has changed our lives.
We have met so many great people over the last few years and have been fortunate enough to be able to attend quite a few conventions where we have met gamers from all over the world. Of those we have met, there are a handful of media creators who really take promoting the hobby to the next level and I wanted spotlight those who provide us with hours of entertainment.

Years ago (Pre-Youtube), Emily and I, along with a group of our friends, were co-founders of a short film group. We created short skits very similar to the guys at Viva La Dirt League ,which you should really check out. Therefore, in a small way, we recognize the time and effort that goes into creating quality media content. This labor of love can never truly be appreciated by the viewer. If done right, the end result looks effortless and is simply entertaining to anyone who watches. Just watch the end of any Pair of Dice Paradise video for the outtakes and you will get just a very small example of the stuff that hits the cutting room floor.

Four years ago we dove headlong into board gaming and naturally we googled to find out as much as we could about the hobby. It did not take long to find a ton of websites, youtube channels and podcasts on the subject. Some were thrown together, some were well produced but not entertaining, and a rare few came to the top, combining high quality audio/video techniques with friendly/entertaining showmanship.

I could stop there and say that is enough reason throw a few dollars to your favorite channels. If they make you laugh, provide the information your looking for, and you hit the subscribe button, then a few dollars is a menial drop in the bucket compared to your monthly cable/internet bill, but I digress…

This little website editorial (that will be seen by maybe 10+ people, most of who are in my game group), is not about donations, or even promoting their content. It’s about the creators and how they are just damn good friendly people. We are simply amazed that the leaders of this growing community take time to interface with the viewers the way many of them do. I look forward each day to some friendly twitter banter with these guys and gals. Not just the media people, but all the others who love the hobby too.

I’m not even going to begin to list all the Youtubers, podcatsers and reviewers that are simply amazing people. You don’t have to look far to find them yourself.
We personally, we want to spotlight both Rodney Smith and Chaz Marler. We have met both of them at Origins and GenCon over the past few years and each time we do they take a moment out of their overly busy schedules to chat for a moment. They are not the only ones who do this, but these two guys stand out as friends we look forward to seeing at the Con’s each year and will be supporting their content for as long as they are willing to create it.

Emily and I have discussed creating a channel or a podcast for fun. But to do it right, we know it will be a time investment that right now we are not willing to make. So we decided instead to support the guys who do it right and do our part by promoting them. We are only out a little money and some time, but we get a lot more in return.

That’s our two cents.
Happy Gaming.

Join us at Cincity Con Oct 6th -Oct 8th!

On May 27th 2017, We re-entered Caste Ravenloft, this time not as welcome guest, but to sneak in through the front door undetected. After mere seconds of stealth, we were detected and ran like scared children to our beloved organ hidey-hole. After hours of fighting our way back to the top, then spiraling down to the depths, we ended up unintentionally paying a visit to our old friend, and what an Angel he is…

After a few Organ jokes and some puttering around, we got to the heart of the matter. Now we are taking a long rest and getting ready for lucky Session #13.
